Energy is an indispensable part of human life. The largest share in the energy resources used in the world belongs to fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas) at a rate of 85-90%. However, the reserves of these fuels are limited and running out. It is stated in various international sources that if the consumption continues at the same rate, oil will be exhausted in 40-45 years, natural gas 60-70 years and coal 240-250 years from the existing fossil fuel reserves in our world.
  • The high natural moisture and ash content of the coal used in solid fuel boilers reduces the calorific value of the coal. For this reason, make sure that the coal you buy is a quality coal with an analysis report and that there is no water in the stocked coal.
  • For the burning of solid fuel boilers, employ trained personnel (with a firefighter certificate).
  • In boilers, excessive air entering the combustion chamber, together with the chimney draft, causes the heated air to be discharged from the chimney without being used. In order for an efficient combustion to occur; Ensure that the boiler covers are not broken or damaged, that the covers are fully closed, that the appropriate fuel-air mixture adjustment is made by the authorized technical service, especially in liquid fuel boilers. Make sure to do this periodically, at least once a year.
  • A smooth chimney draft ensures efficient combustion. You should take the necessary precautions for this.
  • If your boiler or even your floor heating is in a place where there is no need for heating, have all pipes and tanks in this area insulated.
  • Instead of overloading the boiler with coal, sufficient fuel should be consumed. Excess coal also reduces the combustion quality. These details are important in order not to clean the boiler too much and to prevent air pollution.
  • In order to save coal, smoke pipes should be cleaned twice a week.
  • Worn and spilled plumbing needs to be repaired. Insulation issues are also extremely important.
  • The air flaps should be adjusted well so that there is no uncontrollable chimney draft.
  • It is necessary to clean the boiler chimney at least once. When it is not cleaned, the amount of coal will increase.
  • In case of air entry in the smoke ducts, the escaping air reduces the chimney draft and burns the coal more.
  • Thermostatic radiator valves, which adjust the radiator temperature according to the room temperature, provide significant energy savings (around 15-20% per year), although their initial investment costs are expensive. Therefore, instead of classical radiator valves, prefer thermostatic valves.
  • Never cover the top and front of the radiators (especially with long curtains). (Decorative covers, drying clothes on the radiator, and furnished enclosures prevent the environment from heating up.)
